The path of the 2023 Annular Solar Eclipse happens to pass right through Northern Nevada! This rare and extraordinary event will take place on Saturday, October 14th. This event, in partnership with Nevada Outdoor School, the California Trail Center, and the Northeastern Nevada Museum will take place at the California Trail Center. The event will start at 7:30 a.m. with treats and solar crafts. Bring your own reusable cup or mug for some hot chocolate, coffee, or tea! The partial eclipse begins at 8:07 am and then by 9:22 am viewers will be able to see the annular eclipse which looks like a ring of fire as the moon blocks all but the outer edges of the sun. Solar glasses will be provided while supplies last.
