Join Bureau of Land Management Park Ranger Gina and an Elko local professional seamstress Brenda at The California Trail Center and learn about pioneer clothes. This will be a power-point presentation and hands-on indoor sewing activity that will increase awareness of certain styles of pioneer clothing that women, men, and children wore in the 1850’s. These clothing styles were very labor intensive for the pioneer women to make for their families. Activity: Following the talk learn how to sew and make modern Thanksgiving potholders. This hands on activity is for adults and children 12 years old and up. Take home the potholder craft after you have enjoyed the activity lesson.
