Foundation and Donations

Support the Trail Center

Projects funded in 2016 include creating a 1st grade Science and Literature education program including traveling trunks with lesson plans, materials, and a literacy kit for 150 students; 8th grade Environmental Education programs with classroom and field study elements for 130 students; enhancing the research library; and creating Native American materials for use in education and interpretation programs.

Through our partner, Southern Nevada Conservancy, you can make a difference to support education and interpretation at the California Trail Interpretive Center. Those donating $250 and above will have the honor of their name appearing on the donor board in the Trail Center lobby. Checks should be made payable to The California Trail Interpretive Center and mailed to Southern Nevada Conservancy 6755 W. Charleston Blvd. Suite D, Las Vegas, NV 89146.

California Trail Heritage Alliance

The California Trail Heritage Alliance was established in 2009 to help raise funds for the final phases of construction, exhibit, and development for the California Trail Interpretive Center.  In recent years, the mission of the Foundation has broadened to one of keeping the history of the California Trail alive, and helping protect and preserve the Trail through education and outreach, marketing, advocacy, and fund raising.

Every membership supports the California Trail Interpretive Center and Trail preservation. When you join other enthusiasts to become a member, or renew your membership, you directly support interpretation, education, and special events at the California Trail Interpretive Center. Your contribution helps preserve the Trail and its history for the benefit of current and future generations.

Southern Nevada Conservancy

Southern Nevada Conservancy was initially contracted by the Bureau of Land Management for exhibit planning and installation. Today, they support the Trail Center through the non-profit bookstore. Proceeds from the bookstore support education and interpretation programs and special projects.
